Are you an experienced accounting professional with a passion for leadership and a knack for managing complex financial environments? MFM (NZ) is seeking a dynamic Team Leader Accounts to join our whānau. About Us

Manulife Investment Management Forest Management (NZ) Limited (MFM (NZ)) is a prominent player in the forest management industry, established in 2004 to oversee forest assets for Manulife Investment Management Timberland and Agriculture Inc's (MIMTA) clients. As a leading timberland investment manager globally, MIMTA is part of Manulife's Global Wealth and Asset Management business. In Aotearoa New Zealand, MFM (NZ) manages approximately 217,000 hectares of plantation forest, yielding an annual harvest of about 4 million m³. The Role

We're seeking a dynamic and experienced accounting professional to join our business in this full-time Tauranga based permanent position. This pivotal role involves overseeing end-to-end accounts receivable and payable functions, ensuring timely, complete, and accurate data processing. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Managing the payment cycle of vendor invoices and preparing authorisation of payment batches in accordance with delegated authorities.
  2. Leading and mentoring a team to foster a supportive and growth-oriented environment.
  3. Ensuring adherence to policy and control procedures to safeguard company and client assets.
  4. Delivering timely and accurate financial reporting, including cashflow forecasts and debtor & creditor ageing reports.
  5. Driving continuous improvement within the accounts team to enhance efficiency and reduce low-value activities.
  6. Engaging with stakeholders to ensure effective processing of invoices, payments, and receipts, providing excellent customer service.

What We're Looking For

  1. Proven experience in a senior accounts payable/receivable role with a strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
  2. Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet strict deadlines.
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products and a willingness to embrace new technology.
  4. Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence and achieve positive outcomes.
  5. Experience with or a desire to have staff management accountability and able to help direct reports be the best they can be.
  6. Commitment to customer service, teamwork, and continuous performance improvement.
  7. Strong skills in systems management and Excel for data analysis.
