Based in Wellington, the Senior Coronial Information Advisor is a newly created role and an exciting opportunity to contribute to positive change in the Aotearoa New Zealand justice system. The Senior Coronial Information Advisor is responsible for triaging on behalf of the team, drafting complex responses, and facilitating the provision of official correspondence, data, and information relating to the Coronial system and the Ministry of Justice.

You will bring your experience in working with information, correspondence, and data in a large customer-centric organisation to promote and drive comprehensive and tailored responses to members of the public, other government departments, and requests for public information. With a resilient nature and the ability to navigate sensitive subject matter, your role is to maintain consistent and standardised alignment of systems and processes for managing incoming and outgoing requests, quality reviewing of responses from the team to ensure they meet statutory requirements, align to publicly available information, are issued within relevant timeframes, and are tailored for the requestor.

Requests for information and correspondence with the Ministry and Coronial Services are diverse, and the day-to-day work reflects this. To be successful in this role you'll:

  • have previously worked with information, official correspondence, or data
  • be detail-oriented as there are processes and statutory obligations to be met
  • be able to influence and respond to changing needs and priorities
  • have an ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds, as well as well-developed written and oral communication skills
  • be resilient and have the skill to manage sensitive or graphic details.

Utu ā-tau / Salary

The appointing salary for this role will be between $83,562 and $116,273 based on skills and experience.
