About the Role
As a Practice Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing primary care nursing support, patient interventions, and treatments within the medical centre. Your responsibilities will include delivering patient-centred, culturally appropriate, and holistic care. You will collaborate efficiently and professionally with the practice team. This full-time position requires you to work 40 hours per week, between 7:30 am and 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Urgent triage
- Follow-up of patient test results and communication with patients where appropriate
- Undertaking treatment options and carrying out appropriate clinical interventions and procedures
- Health screening.
- Delivery of immunisation programmes.
- Ongoing care and support for people with chronic and terminal conditions
About You
You are a passionate and experienced nurse dedicated to making a positive impact in the community. You are registered in New Zealand with current practicing and vaccination certification. While prior experience as a practice nurse is ideal, we welcome applications from nurses with an ED/Emergency background.
You will be experienced in the following areas:
- Immunisations, cervical smear & HPV swabbing
- Skin and Minor Surgery Assisting
- Wound care and dressing
- General IT
- Strong professional boundaries and confidentiality maintenance
