As a Support Worker, you are key to supporting the people in your care both physically and emotionally to achieve their personal goal and allow them to lead a full and valued life. Main duties of the job

Your day-to-day will include ward rounds, analysing behaviours and adapting care accordingly with colleagues, updating patient records, and providing overall care and support, which may include assisting with personal hygiene. It can be quite a challenging environment at times, so a positive attitude, compassion, resilience and vigilance are important. But it is hugely rewarding to see people improve because of your involvement, knowing that you've made someone's life better.

Job responsibilities

As a Support Worker, you will:

  1. Join an inclusive and supportive team that provides care to people with a range of Mental Health conditions.
  2. Utilize your knowledge and skills to assist individuals along their recovery pathway.
  3. Participate in ward rounds and analyze behaviours to adapt care accordingly.
  4. Update patient records and provide overall care and support, including assistance with personal hygiene.

The shift pattern is 10.25 hour days, 3-4 days a week including nights and weekends, totaling 40.25 hours a week.

Location: Westpark 26, Chelston, Wellington, Somerset, TA21 9FF

You will be working at Wellesley Hospital, a purpose-built 101 bed hospital in Wellington (Somerset) for men and women with mental health needs.
