About This Role

An opportunity exists for a very experienced policy professional to join the Policy Advisory Group which has an important role in providing the Prime Minister with up-to-date information on emerging policy issues.

This skilled practitioner will work at the centre of executive government and be involved in government decision making at the highest levels.

What You Will Bring

With a depth of experience in a wide range of public policy interests and a deep understanding of the current political context, the ideal candidate will have analytical agility to work across a wide range of issues.

Your significant experience will mean you work comfortably in a highly autonomous environment with the highest standard of judgement, integrity, and impartial advice. You will have a track record in building high trust relationships and in working with others to solve problems constructively. You must be able to analyse complex situations and policies, work under pressure and generate effective solutions for consideration by the Prime Minister, ministers and government officials.

The indicative appointing range for this role is $218,721 - $244,453 p/a inclusive of KiwiSaver contributions.

Security Requirements

Normally you must be a New Zealand citizen or hold a Resident class visa. Alternatively, you must have been a citizen of the UK, USA, Canada or Australia with a 10 year checkable background. To find out more check your eligibility for a TOP SECRET security clearance.
