The Rabobank Wholesale team services the large and complex Food and Agribusiness customers of the bank. In New Zealand, the core activities include lending, structured working capital solutions, risk management and sustainability engagement.

About the role

The Director, as a Senior Relationship Banker, and in conjunction with the Executive Director, Head of Corporate Banking (NZ), is responsible for originating and managing a complex portfolio of Wholesale Food & Agri customers.

This role is to drive revenue growth and deal flow and improve profitability of the bank in a sustainable manner.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Prospect and segment strategy
  2. Deal origination, including identifying capital structure, working capital and risk management opportunities with existing clients and prospects
  3. Developing and strengthening existing customer relationships to enhance Rabobank's customer value proposition
  4. Linking global knowledge
  5. Taking ownership of credit submissions
  6. Driving strategic projects
  7. Presenting Rabobank as a knowledge-driven and high-quality partner

As a Director and Senior Relationship Banker, this role is expected to deliver a high-quality and professional level of client service that reflects the vision and values of Rabobank. They are expected to operate with the highest level of integrity and ethical standards as well as use their knowledge to contribute to the sustainable success of our customers.

About you

This role is an exciting opportunity for a driven, ambitious individual with strong business development skills, commercial acumen and understanding of credit, with at least 10 years' experience in Corporate & Institutional Banking (lending and relationship management).

Knowledge:

  • Good understanding of a bank's credit process and the ability to manage a credit process
  • Demonstrated knowledge of lending (Corporate, Leveraged, Project or Structured Finance) and associated tax, accounting and legal issues.

  • Technical & Specialist Skills
  • Excel, Word, Power-point & Advanced computing skills
  • Financial Modelling skills
  • Sound Risk Management / Analytical skills
  • Excellent report writing skills
