Āu Mahi | What You Will Do
The role of the Poutoko, Ohu Tohutohu i Te Ratonga Whaikaha |Student Accessibility Service Team Leader is to lead and manage the service to deliver appropriate specialist advice and resources to students with accessibility challenges. You will also develop and deliver strategic initiatives to enhance the academic performance, personal development and wellbeing of students who engage with TRW|SAS. Your work will involve meaningful collaboration with academic colleagues, other professional support teams across the university, and students. If you seek to encourage, empower and equip students to succeed and have knowledge and understanding of current inclusive strategies and approaches, then this may be the job for you.

Mōu | Who You Are
The successful candidate will hold a Postgraduate qualification (minimum of NZQA Level 8) within the fields of Social Science, Health, Disability and/or Education. A teaching qualification with significant teaching experience would be advantageous for this role. You will also have:

  • considerable leadership experience, preferably in an education field
  • significant experience working directly with people with accessibility challenges
  • a demonstrated commitment to inclusion
  • experience with managing a budget and statistical analysis
  • successful change management experience and effective skills to facilitate communication and understanding across different areas of the University
  • proficiency in oral presentations, written reporting, and policy development and review
  • familiarity with the tertiary education sector
  • experience dealing with complex issues
  • recognition and implementation of Te Ao Ngāi Tūāhuriri - values, tikanga, kawa and traditions and valuing te reo Māori
  • ability to provide cultural leadership, and proficiency in te reo Māori is desirable.

The salary for this position sits within the General Staff Collective Agreement Band 5 salary range - $93 906 - $114 619. Appointable salary within this range is dependent on skills and experience.
