Job Description
Avani Queenstown Hotel are looking for an enthusiastic and service-driven Restaurant Supervisorto join our team on a full-timebasis.
As a valued team member, you will oversee and support the food & beverage team to ensure seamless operations and exceptional guest experiences by:
- Servingfood and beverages to guests in a within the hotel andrestaurant, ensuring professional and attentive service.
- Leads, motivates, and coaches the Food & Beverage team to deliver consistent service standards.
- Monitors service quality and ensuringconsistency across all shifts and service periods.
- Manages guest enquiries and resolves service issues promptly and professionally.
- Supports inventory management, stock control, and day-to-day Food & Beverage operations.
- Works closely with management to maintain high-quality service and efficient daily operations.
Shift Details (subject to change):
- Breakfast, lunch, and dinner shifts
- Rotating roster across Monday through Sunday
- Split shifts may be required on some days
Expected minimum hours: 30 hours per week
Location:327/343 Frankton Road, Queenstown 9300, New Zealand
Hourly range: $29 - $32NZD per hour. (excluding contributions to KiwiSaver). Payment of wages will be processed on a fortnightly basis by direct credit to your nominated bank account.
Annual salary approximate: $45,240 - $49,920 (excluding contributions to KiwiSaver).

Reporting to: Restaurant Manager
Breaks: Employees are entitled to paid rest breaks and unpaid meal breaks based on the number of hours worked. Breaks will be taken at times agreed to by the employer and employee or when the law says breaks must be taken. Leave Entitlements: As per Employment New Zealand - Leave and holidays | Employment New Zealand and Holidays Act 2003.
Period of Notice: Four weeks
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A minimum of 1 year of directly relevant hands-on experience in a food and beverage or restaurant supervision environment
- Solid understanding of alcohol (preferred but not essential)
- Proven supervisory or leadership experience in a food and beverage environment
- Strong understanding of hospitality operations and high-quality service delivery
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
- Professional presentation and the ability to lead by example
- Reliability and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays
