As a global leader in engineering and technical services, we're looking for a Senior Associate Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic Energy and Power team in New Zealand. This is your opportunity to work on cutting-edge transmission and distribution projects across the APAC region while developing your expertise and career.

As our Senior Associate Electrical Engineer, you'll be a technical leader in HV Primary Electrical Engineering across Transmission and Distribution systems. You'll represent Jacobs to clients, deliver innovative solutions, and mentor junior engineers to grow our substation engineering capabilities.

Responsibilities
  1. Lead primary design for distribution and transmission systems (22kV to 500kV).
  2. Develop primary engineering deliverables including substation layout design, clearances, short circuit force calculations, lighting calculations, and earthing.
  3. Fulfill the role of Lead Engineer for projects within defined packages, delivering on time and budget.
  4. Provide technical direction to design teams, including engineers in our Global Delivery Centres.
  5. Interact with and support other disciplines (civil, structural, secondary).
  6. Manage and undertake technical reviews of deliverables.
  7. Attend and participate in project and client meetings.
  8. Contribute to proposal preparation, scope development, pricing, and occasionally lead proposal coordination.
  9. Build and maintain strong client relationships as a trusted adviser.
Minimum Requirements
  1. A relevant degree in Electrical Engineering.
  2. Demonstrated expertise in HV Primary Electrical Engineering for transmission and distribution systems.
  3. Proficiency with CAD software such as Microstation and AutoCAD.
  4. Strong understanding of industry standards and practices.
  5. Experience in leading engineers and design teams.
  6. Excellent communication skills and ability to work across geographies.
  7. Proven ability to build strong client relationships.
  8. Track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
