About the role
We are seeking a fixed term, full-time Online Academic Administrator, to support the Online academic team across all our Online programmes. To be successful in this role you'll need to have a positive approach towards students, and an ability to multi-task. Our ideal candidate will have a passion for systems, processes, and administration. A high level of common sense and initiative is required, as is a solutions-focused attitude.
This is a fully remote, 6 month fixed-term maternity leave position. We will only be proceeding with candidates who are available to start immediately.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-level administrative support to the Online Team Leader and Campus Manager to ensure smooth daily operations, academic compliance, and student satisfaction within the online learning environment.
- Manage and maintain accurate student records, ensuring compliance with NZQA regulations and internal academic standards, while safeguarding confidential information at all times.
- Support student communications, including timely responses to queries regarding platform access, assessment submissions, and key academic dates, fostering a responsive and student-centric environment.
- Coordinate administrative tasks relating to online programmes, ensuring that documentation, forms, and processes are consistently updated and aligned with both internal procedures and external regulatory requirements.
- Liaise effectively with academic staff and campus leadership, cultivating strong working relationships that support collaboration and drive strategic goals across the online education platform.
- Proactively monitor academic workflows, demonstrating initiative in following up on tasks, addressing student issues, and contributing to the continuous improvement of systems and processes.
- Assist with general administrative duties as needed, supporting the broader Online academic team and contributing to the efficient running of the Online Campus.
Required Skills/Experience:
- Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite – in particular MS Excel, Word & PowerPoint
- High degree of interpersonal ability
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to be proactive, use initiative and anticipate the administration needs of the campus and leadership team
- A high degree of accurate & speedy data entry skills
- Proven ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively and efficiently
- CRM experience would be a benefit, but not essential
- Knowledge of the tertiary education sector would be a definite advantage, but not essential
- Shows a pro-active and solutions focused attitude
- Proficiency in Power BI
