Mō te tīma / About the Team

The Safe, Strong Families and Communities (SSFC) team sits within the Community, Partnerships and Programmes business unit and delivers MSD's response to family violence, sexual violence and building financial capability across New Zealand.

The sexual violence team designs, delivers and procures sexual violence support services across New Zealand, with a focus on increasing the availability, accessibility and quality of these services. In this role you will be part of an innovative team committed to improving access to sexual violence support services for individuals and whānau that have been affected by sexual violence.

We are after someone that is experienced, innovative and committed to this kaupapa.

Mō te tūnga / About the role

As a Senior Advisor your role will be focused on redesigning and enhancing sexual violence services. You will bring your strong writing and service design skills to deliver high quality advice and reports that support the development of sexual violence support services.

You will be part of a small dynamic team who work:

  1. across Government agencies (especially the Te Puna Aonui agencies)
  2. directly with non-government agencies, including those that deliver sexual violence support services
  3. with relevant Business Units and teams within MSD
  4. to ensure sexual violence support services are responsive to Māori
  5. to support the wider team culture
Mōu – Ngā Pūkenga me ngā Wheako / Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you will:

  1. Understand and be able to demonstrate actioning the Articles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  2. Possess strong writing, analytical and communication skills
  3. Have a sound understanding of political processes and how government operates
  4. Have service design and implementation experience
  5. Have a demonstrated ability of working collaboratively and effectively internally and externally to achieve agreed outcomes
  6. Be able to deliver and work to deadlines
  7. Be an innovative thinker that can provide practical solutions for complex issues

We also value experience and knowledge in these areas:

  1. Relevant experience with non-government organisations, preferably in the sexual violence sector
  2. Experience working in the community with whānau Māori
  3. Budget Bid process knowledge
  4. Policy experience
  5. Knowledge of tikanga Māori approaches
