Part-Time Accounts Administrator with Import/Logistics Expertise - Solar Energy Wholesaler (20 Hours/Week)
Rise Energy is a prominent distributor of renowned solar and renewable energy brands. We specialise in sourcing and distributing a wide range of solar panels, inverters, batteries, and accessories, actively contributing to the widespread adoption of clean energy and a greener future.
Due to business growth, we are now looking for a new person to join our small team in the position of Accounts Administrator (with logistics expertise) in their Auckland office.
The Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated Part-Time Accounts Administrator to manage financial transactions and oversee the crucial logistics aspects of the business, including the importation of products. You'll be the linchpin between our finance and operations departments, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all processes, within a flexible 20-hour work week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounting Administration
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Process invoices, manage payments, and ensure timely reconciliation.
- Maintenance of accounting and payment processes - ensuring enhanced efficiencies and automation, reduction in manual errors, approvals etc.
- Manage payroll, GST and all internal staff payment requirements.
- Handle general administration tasks in the finance function.
- Resolve queries from suppliers, customers and staff, assisting with customer service requests as and where appropriate.
- Logistics
- Import Logistics Management: Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to ensure seamless import of goods (proportional to part-time hours).
- Inventory Control: Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and track incoming/outgoing stock (proportional to part-time hours).
- Documentation: Prepare and manage necessary import documentation, including customs declarations and shipping manifests.
- Cost Analysis: Monitor import costs and identify areas for optimisation.
- Financial Reporting: Assist with monthly and quarterly financial reporting.
- General Administrative Duties: Support the team with various administrative tasks as required.
Skill Set Required:
- Proven experience as an Accounts Administrator, ideally within a wholesale or import/export environment.
- Strong understanding of import/export procedures and customs regulations.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills with a keen eye for detail.
- High degree of competency with ERP, CRM (Netsuite preferred) and accounting software and Google Workspace (Gmail, Sheets, Docs and other applications).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, within a part-time framework.
- Experience in the solar industry is a plus.
- Knowledge of freight forwarding and shipping procedures.
