The Opportunity
Are you passionate about coffee and providing exceptional service? Braemar Hospital is looking for a talented and enthusiastic Food and Beverage Attendant with barista skills to join our dynamic team
- Working in the kitchen and cafe reporting to the Executive Chef, the Food and Beverage Attendant is responsible for:
- Preparing and serving a variety of high-quality coffee beverages, including espresso, cappuccino, latte, and more;
- Ensuring excellent customer service by greeting and assisting patients, clients, and staff with a friendly and professional attitude;
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the cafe nook and food service areas;
- Assisting with food preparation and service as needed;
- Washing dishes and ensuring all kitchen equipment is clean and sanitized;
- Servicing and maintaining coffee machines throughout the hospital to ensure optimal performance;
- Serving rooms and clearing meal trays;
- Operating the cafe till and performing a moderate stock take;
- Adhering to health and safety regulations to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.
The position is for 20 hours a week, from 7:00am to 11:30am, with some late shifts serving patients between 4:00pm and 8:30pm.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have proven experience as a barista, with a strong knowledge of coffee preparation techniques;
- Have excellent customer service and communication skills;
- Be able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently;
- Not be afraid to roll up your sleeves and help with washing dishes;
- Have strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and quality;
- Have flexibility and adaptability to work in various roles within the food and beverage department as needed;
- Be flexible with your ability to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays (these can be adjusted for a student schedule).
