About the Role
Are you passionate about events, heritage venues, and providing top-notch customer service? We're looking for a motivated and organised Caccia Birch Support Officer to join our team on a fixed-term basis.
- Fixed-term role (approximately 9 months) to cover parental leave.
- Part-time, 30 hours per week *
- Play a key role in the smooth operation of Caccia Birch House.
* Hours will be primarily scheduled from 9am to 3pm, Monday to Friday; however, flexibility is essential, as the position may require adjustments to accommodate early starts, evening, or weekend work to meet the needs of booked events.
As a Caccia Birch Support Officer, you'll be responsible for assisting with the coordination and delivery of events, responding to client enquiries, and ensuring the venue is well-maintained and presented to a high standard. You'll also greet visitors, provide guided tours, and help with general venue operations.
What You'll Do
- Ensure Caccia Birch House is presented and prepared according to booking requirements.
- Respond to booking and event enquiries, providing accurate information and pricing.
- Coordinate and support event bookings and other activities.
- Assist with venue maintenance, cleaning, and stock control.
- Greet visitors and conduct guided tours, sharing the heritage story of Caccia Birch House.
- Support financial administration, including preparing event financials for invoicing.
- Work closely with the grounds team and other Council staff to ensure smooth operations.
What We're Looking For
- Experience in event coordination or venue operations.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- High level of initiative and ability to work autonomously, including early mornings and late evenings as required.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to quickly learn new systems.
- A reasonable level of physical fitness, as the role involves manual handling tasks.

What We Offer
- Competitive remuneration between $58,398 and $60,831 (pro-rated for part time), equivalent to approximately $28-29 per hour plus a 3% KiwiSaver employer contribution (where eligible).
