About the Role: As Commercial Manager, you will be a key adviser to the CFO and senior leadership team, driving commercial performance through smarter contract management, pricing, procurement, and risk control. You'll help shape the organisation's commercial strategy, optimise its supply chain, and play a central role in capital investment planning.
This is a unique opportunity to influence high-level decision-making and contribute meaningfully to both operational success and long-term business sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Commercial Strategy & Financial Analysis
- Develop and implement commercial strategies in collaboration with business unit leaders.
- Provide financial insight and analysis to support strategic initiatives and operational improvements.
- Review and negotiate commercial agreements, ensuring alignment with business objectives and legal compliance.
- Monitor market trends, identify risks and opportunities, and provide clear recommendations to senior leaders.
- Procurement & Supply Chain Management
- Lead the development and ongoing management of a fit-for-purpose procurement policy.
- Work closely with operational teams to manage strategic inventory levels and ensure effective use of working capital.
- Negotiate procurement agreements for critical equipment and services.
- Drive continuous improvement in supplier performance and procurement processes.
- Contract Pricing & Revenue Optimisation
- Take the lead on pricing strategies for commercial contracts and services.
- Support contract execution and performance monitoring to ensure revenue and margin targets are met.
- Collaborate with regulatory and finance teams to manage pricing arrangements for top customers and distributed generation projects.
- Develop policies around capital contributions for new infrastructure investment.
- Risk & Insurance Management
- Identify, assess, and mitigate key commercial risks across the business.
- Manage the annual insurance renewal process, ensuring effective coverage and cost efficiency.
- Ensure all commercial arrangements are compliant with relevant laws and industry regulations.
What You'll Bring:
- Essential Skills & Experience:
- Significant experience in commercial management, preferably in infrastructure, utilities, or energy.
- Strong financial and analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
- Proven track record in negotiating and managing commercial agreements.
- Experience leading procurement strategies and supplier relationship management.
- Confident in assessing and managing risk within a commercial environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative leadership style.
