Veterinary Laboratory Scientist

The IDEXX laboratory team are currently seeking a motivated Veterinary Laboratory Scientist to join our laboratory in a full-time role. Working in our custom designed site in Hamilton, NZ and as a member of our multidisciplinary team, you – as the successful hire, will ensure the provision of high-quality, efficient, effective, and timely diagnostic testing services for the IDEXX Reference Laboratories. You will apply professional knowledge in biochemistry and haematology, exercising professional judgement in interpretation, verification, laboratory analyses, tests and validation of the result.
You as a Scientist will ensure that IDEXX Reference Laboratories operate at the highest level of accuracy by performing, supervising, and acting upon quality control procedures – setting up instruments, and preparing, running, interpreting, and releasing results while troubleshooting performance, in compliance with IANZ certification requirements.
You will have:
- A Bachelor of Medical Science/or equivalent degree.
- Experience working in a diagnostics laboratory, ideally within biochemistry and haematology.
- An understanding of IANZ and ISO 17025 standards.
- The ability to be flexible and comfortable with full-time hours between Monday-Saturday on rotating day shifts.
- Experience in operating efficiently and effectively to meet tight turnaround times in a commercial lab environment.
- Passion for providing exceptional customer service.
