Position: Kaiako (teacher) – 2 to 5-year-olds

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Kaiako to join our early childhood education team, working with tamariki aged 2 to 5 years. This role offers a wonderful opportunity to nurture young learners in a supportive, inclusive, and culturally rich environment.

Our centre values the diverse cultural backgrounds of our tamariki, which enhances our strong focus on identity, belonging, and respect. As a Kaiako, you will play a key role in fostering a learning environment that reflects and celebrates this diversity.

You will:
  1. Have strong communication skills to build meaningful relationships with tamariki, their whānau, and our friendly team.
  2. Be a collaborative team player, contributing to programme planning, assessments, and regular reviews.
  3. Demonstrate knowledge and skills to support a bicultural curriculum in line with Te Whāriki, while also embracing the cultural diversity within our community.
  4. Possess a growth mindset, with a commitment to ongoing professional learning and keeping up to date with curriculum design and current early childhood education resources.
  5. Hold a recognised ECE qualification and a current New Zealand teacher registration.
