The Role

This is an exciting new position within our branch which performs a short haul service between our Wellington and Palmerston North Branches, while also performing general warehouse duties within our Wellington and Palmerston North Branches ensuring consignments you are transporting are meeting the necessary connections.

We are looking for an experienced and professional truck driver with a calm and positive nature. Our industry is a fast-paced and challenging environment where your skills to problem solve and relate to the customer will be invaluable.

This position usually works from 9.30am to 8.00pm Monday to Friday, and Rostered weekends. Applicants who cannot commit to these hours of work need not apply.

Qualifications/ Certifications and Licensing:

• Full Class 5 New Zealand Drivers License
• Dangerous Goods Endorsement

Experience Needed

• A Minimum of 12 months experience operating a class 5 / B-Train vehicle to provide a Transporting Service on New Zealand Roads.
• Experience loading and unloading General and Dangerous Goods Freight safely onto a vehicle ensuring all legislative requirements, including freight segregation rules, are met and maintained.

Skills Needed

• Excellent communication skills, able to communicate clearly and professionally with people from different backgrounds and roles.
• Excellent organisation and time management skills
• Good literacy and numeracy skills (for example, able to read and comprehend business rules and policies, able to calculate hours to ensure maximum driving hours and rest break requirements are upheld)
