Wellington, Wellington, New Zealand Hnry Full time

Hnry takes the hassle out of being a self-employed individual by taking care of all the financial admin - everything from Invoicing and Payments through to Expenses and Taxes. We're taking a traditionally labour-intensive and stressful set of tasks, and automating them wherever we can, delivering great experiences and online tools for our users, and making their lives easier.

Working directly with one of our Product Managers, the Product Specialist is a key part of our cross-functional delivery squads, working with stakeholders, engineers and designers to deliver measurable contributions towards Hnry's business outcomes, both via our external customer-facing app and within internal-facing systems.

Permanent, full-time.

Up to $100,000 per annum.

Responsibilities
  • Being the internal SME for an area of the Hnry service, understanding at a deep level the 'why' of this area, and being the go-to person for that specialist knowledge.
  • Collaborate with others to maintain and manage the backlog of potential changes/improvements in those areas, working with key stakeholders from around the business to facilitate prioritisation decisions, championing those improvements that contribute towards key strategic business outcomes.
  • Work within a delivery squad (our highly collaborative, cross-functional teams made up of engineers and internal customer representatives), to plan and incrementally deliver those changes, making measurable contributions towards one or many business outcomes.
  • Monitor and measure the internal and external customer impacts of those changes and measure the effectiveness of changes over time.
  • Contribute to right-sized documentation for areas of the Hnry service, documenting your knowledge, key decisions, dependencies and target outcomes.
  • Continually analyse data, trends and wider business insights, to help drive better decision-making and inform prioritisation decisions.
  • Follow our internal best-practices to build, measure and learn at pace - championing the release of new change incrementally, focusing on delivering the 'smallest increment of measurable value.'
  • Regularly engage with internal and external users to understand their priorities, their experiences, and feeding that insight back into the squad and the wider business.
  • Collaborate with our internal Marketing team when new externally-facing changes are brought to market.
  • Work closely with our Product Designers to deliver great experiences, both online and offline, for Hnry customers.
You will:
  • Have the ability to work autonomously and within a team environment. Driving achievements with a strong work ethic and curiosity for growth.
  • Have experience in either a product or business analyst role.
  • Be experienced in collaborating and working closely with software engineers.
  • Have excellent written communication and collaboration skills - we work together and succeed as a team.
  • Have full working rights in New Zealand.
Bonus points for the following:
  • Experience being self-employed (freelancing, contracting etc.) in any industry/profession.
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced, agile workplace.
  • Experience with customer engagement platforms such as Intercom, Hubspot etc.
Interview process:
  • Phone screening.
  • 1st round - 30 minutes.
  • Technical Interview - 1 hour.
  • 3rd interview - 30 minutes.
