The Finance Manager, Capital Investment leads and manages people, plans and resources to support the delivery of outcomes that are aligned to the Ministry's purpose and agreed strategies. The Finance Manager leads the strategic finance project accounting team, focusing on providing Property Delivery with expert support and advice. This leadership role ensures alignment with the Ministry of Education's Strategy while driving performance and continuous improvement.
Salary range: $121,139 - $181,709 per annum total remuneration (base salary plus employer superannuation contribution). The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.

About you | Mōhou akeYou will have a Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a similar discipline and experience in an asset/capital intensive organisation, ideally in the construction industry.
You will also offer:
- Ability to contribute to financial strategy and operational planning, supporting the Ministry's priorities and work programmes.
- Strong collaboration and relationship management skills, working across teams to align financial plans with broader organisational goals.
- Proficiency in financial planning, forecasting, and analysis, supporting budget management and reporting processes.
- Experience working with financial systems and multiple data sources, ensuring accurate reporting and insights for decision-making.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate financial data into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders.
- Ability to identify risks and support financial governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with Ministry policies and public sector financial requirements.
- The ability to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.

The Capital Investments Team plays a critical role in supporting the capital delivery of school property projects. The team partners with delivery teams from project inception through to completion, providing financial insights, analysis, and advice at every stage. By ensuring strong financial oversight and alignment with strategic objectives, the Capital Investments Team helps drive successful outcomes and deliver value across the school property portfolio.
