PRODUCE ASSISTANT MANAGER - PAK'nSAVE Queenstown

We are looking for a talented and experienced Produce Assistant Manager who has a passion for fresh food retailing to assist the Department Manager and ensure that our store delivers the best customer shopping experience possible.

It would be an advantage to have knowledge of the Produce industry, preferably having worked in a supermarket environment.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be required to hold or obtain a valid Forklift License and First Aid Certificate
  • Have NZ Register Level 2 qualification or at least three years of experience managing and/or leading staff
  • Be passionate about fresh fruit and vegetables and delivering best quality at best prices
  • Be physically fit and able to repeatedly lift heavy items (up to 15kg)

Be available to work:

Monday - 4:30am – 2:00pm

Tuesday - 8:00am – 5:30pm

Thursday - 8:00am – 5:30pm

Friday - OFF

Saturday - OFF

Sunday – 4:30am – 2:00pm

Key responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting the manager to achieve sales targets and meet profitability budgets
  • Maintain high presentation standards and cleanliness
  • Leading and developing the produce team
  • Ordering and controlling produce stock levels
  • Unloading freight and receipting orders into the business
  • Moving stock throughout the business including using forklifts and manual handling work
  • Actively promoting food safety and health and safety initiatives within the department and throughout the supermarket
