As a Technical Field Officer, you will be the technical expert for Agriculture covering most of the Hamilton area for Farmlands.

This is a territory-based role, so your day will consist of consulting on farm, providing a wealth of knowledge across the shareholders farming system, backed by a technical extension and support team. You'll be solutions focused, drawing on your industry knowledge to tailor the products & services offered at each site to ensure the success of our client's business as you successfully hold and develop shareholder relationships.

The ability to deliver shareholder success, build your business and chase new opportunities to develop your portfolio of clients in this region is unlimited, with a range of reputable farming businesses across a good mixture of dairy, cropping, horticulture, lifestyle and sheep/beef.

In this role you will continue to develop practical agronomy skills across a range of pasture and crop species working closely with an established team of peers to support the agronomy program and wider categories in the region.

You will also be able to:

  • Provide frontline support from our technical extension team in agronomy and land production
  • Work closely within our local retail team in the Hamilton branch to support key relationships and customers
  • Use technology to your advantage to strategically plan and execute seasonal planning with shareholders

  • You'll be effective at developing long-lasting business relationships and be focused on providing profitable solutions

  • You will possess knowledge of farming systems and a real passion for the rural sector.
  • Your skill set will allow you to talk farming with anyone and will complement your excellent communication and relationship building skills
