Taupaki School is seeking a NZ registered teacher to be our full-time intervention teacher.
0.64 of this job allocation is dedicated to being a structured literacy support teacher and the other 0.36 of this position will be to plan and implement Mathematics interventions for students who need support.
This role is a full-time teaching role and will involve planning and implementing a range of intervention programmes/groups. It will also involve elements of assessment including testing and report writing. At times this also can involve supporting teachers and being in classrooms. There is also a small ESOL component to the role.
The role is part of our learning support team which includes our Deputy Principal who oversees SENCO, our learning support coordinator, and teacher aides.
This role includes training to gain the Learning MATTERS Intervention Teaching Certification (LMIT) in May this year.
We are seeking someone who has recently worked in a New Zealand classroom, has structured literacy training (preferably Little Learners Love Literacy), a passion for English and Mathematics, and supporting learners who need help to fill the gaps in their learning.
