You will be collaborating with another healthy active learning advisor to work closely with principals, senior leaders, and teachers across 37 primary and intermediate schools in central Bay of Plenty. Applicants must live in or be willing to relocate to Rotorua.
As a healthy active learning advisor, you will:
- Act as the key connector between schools and external providers to support schools and kura in creating sustainable, active learning environments.
- Facilitate professional development for teachers, building confidence and capability in delivering the Health & PE curriculum and provide guidance on embedding physical activity across all curriculum areas.
- Work alongside school leaders to strengthen culturally responsive practices, support inclusive physical activity, and engage with local communities.
- Support schools with funding applications and resourcing for physical education and activity based initiatives.
To be successful in this role, you must:
- Hold a current New Zealand Teacher Registration (not suitable for BTs).
- Have experience in education and sport/recreation or community sport/development with a strong knowledge of schools operating models and local networks.
- Be organised, confident, and skilled in managing relationships with educators, external providers, and community groups.
- Have experience in designing and delivering PD workshops related to the Health & PE curriculum.
