About the role

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced nurse to work in the Vascular Surgery Research team in collaboration with the University of Auckland

This role offers a unique chance to be at the forefront of cutting-edge vascular research, where you'll play a key role in supporting and advancing the department's vital work. Working closely with a dynamic team of vascular specialists, you'll ensure the continued delivery of high-quality research and contribute to groundbreaking advancements in the field.

The salary for this position will be based on experience and in line with the NZNO Collective Agreement. Additional benefits include KiwiSaver contributions (if eligible).

About the Team/Service

Our Waikato Vascular department is the tertiary service to the Te Manawa Taki/Midland Region serving a population of approximately 1 million people.

The vascular department collaborates with several national and international research institutions delivering high-quality research and peer-reviewed publications. On average, the department publishes 25-30 publications a year. The areas of research include first-in-human studies involving medical devices, randomized trials, observational studies, and researcher-generated hypotheses.

About you

Skills and experience you'll need to be considered for the role:

  • Registration with the NZ Nursing Council and a current Annual Practising Certificate;
  • Vascular nursing experience in an acute hospital setting;
  • Be a team player who is flexible with a positive attitude;
  • Have the ability to effectively communicate with patients and the aortic research team;
  • Organized and adaptable, with the ability to problem-solve and work independently;
  • Computer skills - typing and data entry into Excel or equivalent.
