An exciting opportunity awaits for a positive and proactive Senior Accountant to join the team at McKechnie Aluminium on a fixed term basis. Please note the fixed term cover is for 14 months.

The Role:

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Senior Accountant will be providing a pivotal function within the Finance team. As the Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing accounting functions, including financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and internal controls. This role plays a key part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data and supports strategic decision-making through insightful financial analysis.

We are looking for someone to join our team who brings:

  1. A strong and detailed understanding of accounting, which is essential for this key position
  2. Proven experience in month-end reporting and weekly management reporting
  3. Competence in high-level debtor management
  4. Involvement in year-end processes, audit preparation, and tax and compliance responsibilities
  5. Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is advantageous

About you:

As an experienced Senior Accountant, you will:

  1. Bring a minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience in a similar role
  2. Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  3. Demonstrate a high level of accuracy in data entry
  4. Show proficiency in accounting software
  5. Show strong competency in Microsoft Excel
  6. Ability to manage deadlines and work under pressure
  7. Display a positive attitude and a collaborative approach, with a willingness to support others
