Roles & Responsibilities

As an Asbestos Surveyor / Project Co-ordinator, you will play a vital role in supporting our projects and contributing to the efficient functioning of our Christchurch region and National company growth.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Previous experience in project administration or related roles is desirable but not essential. We provide comprehensive training to ensure your success;
  • A working knowledge of Alpha Tracker or other Asbestos CRM would be advantageous;
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with an ability to learn and adapt quickly;
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy;
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Proficiency in office software applications, including spreadsheets and word processing;
  • Experience undertaking Asbestos Surveys desirable (minimum hold BOHS IP402 or equivalent);
  • Familiarity with construction of commercial and residential buildings beneficial;
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Management and scheduling of all tasks required for small and large-scale projects;
  • Administration and management of client jobs using CRM software;
  • Assistance with the strategy for the development of commercial asbestos surveys and assessments;
  • Work with clients to understand their requirements from the survey to reporting and review of management plans;
  • Support and implement all Health and Safety practices in the workplace;
  • Support clients in the development of the documentation as required in the Health & Safety (Asbestos) Regulations (2016);
  • Proactively communicate with clients in a timely manner regarding work being completed;
  • Preparation of client reports with a high degree of accuracy;
  • Ensure relevant, timely, and effective communication with the external client and internally within the company;
  • Once trained, undertake surveys, sampling, and reporting of hazardous materials - predominantly Asbestos; however, training will be provided in other hazardous materials such as Mould, Bacteria, and Soil Contamination;
  • Surveys and reporting include but are not limited to: Asbestos Management Surveys, Asbestos Refurbishment Surveys, Asbestos Demolition Surveys, Asbestos Management Surveys / Plans, Review of asbestos technical documentation;
  • Undertake all tasks required in the independent assessment and clearance certification of Class A and Class B asbestos;
  • Responsible for communication with the Auckland head office and ability to work remotely from Christchurch;
  • 40 hours/week - permanent full-time position.
