We are currently seeking a Principal Advisor Risk and Assurance to support us over the next six months while we integrate the risk and assurance functions within a new Group. Our small, friendly, and close-knit Planning, Risk and Assurance team is based in Wellington.

The position reports into the Manager Group Risk and Assurance within the Planning Risk and Assurance branch, which forms the engine room to support the new Corporate and Digital Shared Services Group.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Practice your risk and assurance skills to improve decision making across various areas, including data and insights, ICT, programme and portfolio management, finance, health and safety, and people and culture.
  • Work collaboratively with the Manager Group Risk and Assurance to provide operational and strategic risk advice.
  • Lead and manage the assurance programme.
  • Support the ongoing work to embed risk management and assurance into the wider performance story.

Skills and Experience Required:

  • 5+ years' experience in risk management and assurance.
  • Proven experience in leading and undertaking complex risk management and assurance activities.
  • Ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Capability to cope with change, decide and act without having the total picture, and handle risk and uncertainty.
  • Confidence in supporting the business to effectively manage risk and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities within tight deadlines.

Salary range: $118,390 - $143,639
