Who You Are

You have trade-relevant mechanical engineering qualifications – fitter, fitter machinist, mechanical engineer – with proven, hands-on, post-qualification experience in assembling and disassembling mechanical (separation) machinery and components.

You possess excellent organizational skills to record service tasks in a clear, concise service report and submit all job-related paperwork and expenditure in a timely manner.

You are a great communicator, able to discuss issues and advise solutions to our customers' equipment and processes.

You must be confident and self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously or remotely supported, able to follow direction and instructions with ease.

You have a good level of physical fitness, and you must have the digital mindset and skills to work with the business tools and help drive our company's digitalization journey.

About The Job

Your duties will include:

  • Servicing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of Alfa Laval products.
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, manuals, exploded diagrams, and P&ID drawings.
  • Troubleshooting, investigating, and resolving technical problems with deep application and product knowledge at customers' sites or remotely.
  • Undertaking field service jobs both locally and within the cluster.
  • Training customers on the features of products they have purchased.
  • Preparation of the service job to execute/resolve at the shortest possible time.
  • Following up on actions and promises made to customers.
  • Writing advanced service reports on-site and getting them signed by the customer.
  • Updating the service execution IT system with relevant information.
  • Reporting unsafe practices, incidents, and work for continuous improvement.
  • Capturing installed base on site and communicating sales opportunities to the sales organization.
  • Providing proactive service advice to customers relating to the 360 service portfolio.
  • Communicating product-related change notifications (Service Bulletins).
  • Training and supporting Field Service Engineers and other employees.
  • Supervising and overseeing service jobs within your scope of expertise.
What You Know & Experience
  • Mechanical fundamentals.
  • Experience with high-speed separators and decanter centrifuge machines.
  • Experience in marine, brewing, wastewater, and rendering.
  • PLC control systems experience would be highly advantageous – Siemens, Allen & Bradley, 2 Touch, Plus, Basic, DCC, EPC 50/60.
  • Electrical troubleshooting experience would be highly advantageous (but not essential).
  • You will require a full driving license.
  • Strong English language and writing skills.
  • Strong digital skills – Word, Excel, Lotus Notes.
  • Holding a forklift license is preferable (not essential).
  • Holding a rigger ticket is preferable (not essential).
