Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | The opportunity

We are looking for an enthusiastic IT Tutor who will provide our students with a high-quality level of learning and be passionate about passing their knowledge and skills to enable them to succeed in their studies. We are looking for individuals who have the motivation to engage in the growth of our programmes and to shape the development of new teaching and learning techniques.

The role will be based at our City Campus, in the Auckland CBD. This is a fixed-term role (40 hours) per week. Classes are run during the day and evenings.

Key focus areas

  1. Planning and delivering courses using effective and engaging teaching methods and materials appropriate to the students and course content and aligned with the NZSE Teaching and Learning Plan
  2. Design and develop course content and assessments as per NZQA standards
  3. Ensuring all assessments, including tests, are completed as per the requirements of the course, including marking, feedback, moderation, reassessment, and rescheduling within the required timeframe
  4. Industry stakeholder engagement, organising guest speakers and internships
  5. Participating in and working on research projects
  6. Face-to-face and online delivery of classes
Ko koe tēnei | About you

  1. Previous experience in teaching at a tertiary level in IT or related disciplines
  2. In-depth knowledge of Network Infrastructure, including computer infrastructure, networking, server management, and installation of server services
  3. Proficiency in tools and platforms such as Cisco Packet Tracer and Microsoft Azure
  4. Minimum of a Master's qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
  5. Teaching experience in New Zealand preferred within a PTE setting
  6. Research active preferred
  7. Experience with using assessment, evaluation, and review processes to ensure continuous improvement
  8. Previous experience developing programmes and courses on the NZQA framework
  9. Knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  10. NZ Certificate in Adult Tertiary Teaching Level 5 or above, or willing to work towards
