Wainuiomata High School is seeking an experienced and motivated teacher to join our team as learning of learning in our science faculty. This is an opportunity to push boundaries and lead the future of science education.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the science department, driving innovative curriculum development and teaching practices.
  • Create a student-centered learning environment that encourages inquiry, critical thinking, and scientific exploration.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design engaging and challenging science programs that prepare students for the future.
  • Mentor and support the professional development of your team, fostering a culture of excellence and high standards in teaching.
  • Promote a culture of scientific curiosity, creativity, and well-being across the school.

About you

  • A qualified NZ Registered teacher with experience in science education.
  • A visionary leader who can inspire and motivate a team.
  • Forward thinking and passionate about going beyond the norm.
  • A strong advocate for student wellbeing, personal development, and integrated learning.

This is a full-time permanent position, starting in term 2, 2025. Salary is based on the Secondary Teachers' Collective Agreement, according to qualifications and experience.
