Birthright Hawke's Bay provides a range of social services and early childhood education across the region. Our centres are warm, welcoming, and whānau-centric, ensuring every child feels safe, nurtured, and inspired to learn.

We are seeking a qualified and registered early childhood teacher to join our team. You will work closely with our senior teachers and dedicated team to deliver fantastic early childhood education and provide meaningful learning experiences.

What we're looking for:

  1. A passionate self-starter who is skilled, experienced, and able to hit the ground running.
  2. A strong, reliable team player who is flexible, hardworking, and enthusiastic.
  3. A teacher who is qualified and registered (new graduates and provisionally registered teachers welcome to apply).
  4. Someone with excellent communication and relationship skills, committed to fostering positive connections with tamariki and whānau.
  5. A professional who understands and applies the Ministry of Education early childhood regulations.
  6. A lifelong learner, committed to professional development and the ongoing enhancement of teaching practices.

What we offer:

  1. A supportive and close-knit team with great work-life balance (no excessive after-hours meetings).
  2. Permanent, full-time role – 35 hours per week (8:00 am – 3:30 pm).
  3. Extended pay parity rates.
  4. 10 days paid sick leave and your birthday off – fully paid
  5. We close for two weeks over Christmas and New Year to ensure our team gets a well-earned break.
  6. The exciting opportunity to move between our centres as we prepare to open our brand-new facility
