Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

Our Paediatric Perioperative Services has a fantastic opportunity for a passionate experienced PACU nurse to lead the clinical activities of our recovery unit and provide clinical and management leadership to the PACU team in the Charge Nurse role.

The Operating Rooms at Starship Children's Hospital cover Acute/ Emergency and elective procedures in the paediatric specialties of General, Complex Congenital, Thoracic, Urology, Endoscopy, Oncology, ORL, Dental, Head and Neck, Orthopaedics, Spinal, Plastics and Cardiac.

We provide post-operative care to patients having GA outside the OR suite such as radiotherapy, MRI, CT, CIR and other radiology areas.

We care for neonates and children up to 15 years of age from the greater Auckland region and the South Pacific.

either have or be eligible for registration with NZ Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse.
be an experienced PACU Nurse with 5+ years of post-anaesthetic care nursing with extensive experience, ideally with paediatric PACU experience

be able to provide clinical support, expertise, knowledge and leadership to the unit and staff, to ensure quality patient care.

have well-developed communication, critical thinking skills and a commitment to family centred care
have a strong commitment to quality healthcare
