The role will be responsible for providing onsite safety protection, work with staff and contractors and conduct pre-start meeting inductions plus assist with the preparation of safety plans and land entry permits.
Your Role:
- Provide onsite rail protection services to ensure the safety of KiwiRail staff and contractors working on the rail corridor.
- Establishing safety protection systems on site, (providing safety inductions, communicating with trains, train control and operational staff to ensure there are no incidents on the work site)
Your Skills:
- Previous experience as Safety Protector is essential
- Experienced in protecting work sites (Rail or SMTS in road industry preferred)
- Good computer skills with an eye for detail (SAP preferred)
- Excellent communication skills and be a strong team player
- Be physically fit and happy to work in all weather conditions
- Available to attend call emergency callouts at night (when required) and work nonstandard hours
- Health and Safety focus with ability to think outside the square
