Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Collection Development and Assessment Librarian. This permanent, full-time position is well suited if you are a library professional looking to develop your career in academic libraries.

The Collection Development and Assessment Librarian supports and guides the development and evaluation of library collections. This position ensures that the library's resources and processes align with current trends in scholarly publishing and collection management practices.

Key responsibilities:

  • Build and provide guidance on collections across the Library
  • Coordinate collection development and evaluation process
  • Collection evaluation, return on investment, and provision of usage and other metrics
  • Develop and maintain relationships with resource providers and professional Library networks

This role is busy, challenging, extremely rewarding and interesting for the individual with the right temperament.

  • Experience working in the library/information sector
  • Demonstrable engagement with issues, trends and best practices in scholarly communication and publishing
  • Proven ability to develop highly effective relationships and partnerships
  • Excellent organisation and communication skills
