Interislander is embarking on a time of transformational change right across the business.

We are rolling out numerous exciting new projects including the construction and delivery of two new ships and ferry terminals through the Inter-Island Resilient Connection (iReX) Programme and revamping our operational/customer service strategies and processes.

We have an opportunity for a Motorman to join our team on a permanent basis.

The primary purpose of this role is to assist in the repair and maintenance of machinery components in accordance with the Third Engineer instructions.

Inspect and report defects and damage to cargo spaces, hatch covers and ballast tanks. Check machinery and equipment is running properly as directed by watch keeping officers. In addition to prevent, control and fight fires on board also make sure engine room is clean. Operate life-saving appliances and in an emergency carry out duties as assigned by the Third Engineering Officer.

Health and Safety is an important part of how KiwiRail operates. You will be a safety leader and will be expected to "walk the safety talk"

The successful applicant will have:

• Engine Watch Rating, Able Seafarer
• Engine or Motorman Competence in accordance with STCW III/4 and as required by the Flag Administration.
• Knowledge of Inter
• Island freight market desirable.
