The Research, Development & Application (RD&A) Sample Technician is primarily responsible for all activities related to preparation of samples and supporting RD&A function.

This role contributes to sampling reliability and is a key support to the Kerry RD&A team.

Working hand in hand with our scientists and commercial teams by ensuring timely response on sampling, which directly impacts on project delivery and customer centricity.


In addition, this role will help maintain RD&A facility excellence, pilot plant equipment, stock control, shipping logistics and compliance to expected GMP's, housekeeping, health and safety standards.


Key responsibilities:

  • Experience in weighing, compounding/processing and sample making in a food ingredient manufacturing environment.
  • Mix recipes in accordance with preparation methods provided.
  • Responsible for preparation of samples for evaluation, customer trials, product approval, market promotion and customer presentations.
  • Pack and label samples in accordance with standards
  • Ensure retain samples are collected and stored appropriately.
  • Responsible for pilot plant material preparation and support during trials.
  • Receive and dispatch goods for RD&A.
  • Finished goods, raw material, packaging ordering and maintaining stock control.
  • Collect and replenish of raw materials from manufacturing plant.
  • Maintain record documentation and upkeep of equipment.
  • Participate in quality improvement for the function.
  • Support and follow Good Laboratory Practice manual expectations.
  • General housekeeping of sample work area, pilotplant and sample room.
  • Support and assist RD&A team to efficiently perform.

Qualifications and skills:

  • Certificate/Diploma in Laboratory techniques, technical field, or any other related discipline
  • Minimum 1 year of laboratory experience in weighing, compounding/processing and sample making in a food ingredients manufacturing environment.
  • From a food and beverage manufacturing company with HACCP, GMP and ISO 22000 certified environment.
  • Computer literacy and good mathematic are essential (weighing out samples).
  • Meticulous and ability to maintain high accuracy and repeatability in sample making is critical.
  • Strong team player, interpersonal, communication skill and with a commitment to fulfil customer needs.
  • Work independently with minimum supervision and be able to work in a team environment.
  • Meet deadlines, selfmanaged and ability to handle multiple tasks with speed and high accuracy.
  • Make decisions and assist with leading tasks when required.
