Suntory Oceania is a new partnership between Frucor Suntory and Suntory Global Spirits to create a multi-beverage powerhouse across Australia and New Zealand.

Underpinned by 40 market-leading brands, quality craftsmanship and a strong sense of purpose, our $3 billion multi-beverage group will immediately become the fourth largest player in the market, ready to ignite the category from sunrise to sunset, and beyond.

With operations in Australia and New Zealand our business will be powered by two local manufacturing sites, six distribution centres and more than 1500 driven and diverse Suntorians.

The Opportunity

We have an opportunity for a seasoned Sales Director to lead our future licensed channel across the New Zealand market. You will play a pivotal role in establishing the new Liquor Route to Market and lead the NZ Licensed Sales team to deliver best-in-class sales execution in all our channels.

This is a role like no other, you will architect our Route to Market strategy, leading for this agenda from design through to execution then driving commercial performance for a competitive market position. This is an opportunity to craft the future of the licensed channel in NZ from the ground up ahead of us commencing alcohol production at our new start-of-the-art multi-beverage facility (based in Australia) in mid-2025, working with brands, including Jim Beam and Maker's Mark Bourbon, Hibiki and Yamazaki Japanese Whisky, Canadian Club Whisky, Laphroaig and Bowmore , Roku Gin and -196.

What's in your toolkit
  • Demonstrated success leading a Commercial function at a senior level, within a fast-paced operating environment within the liquor industry.
  • Proven experience leading large and geographically dispersed teams, across National Accounts and Field, with a focus on driving an inclusive and high-performance culture.
  • Established relationships with customers in the liquor space, coupled with the ability to educate, inspire and influence at all levels across the organisation.
  • A customer mindset that is second to none; at Suntory, our consumers and customers are at the heart of everything we do.
  • Demonstrated enterprise leadership, with the ability to articulate the vision and take your function on the journey with you.
  • Experience working in a global organisation; international experience will be highly advantageous but not essential.
