The opportunity

Auckland Council's Regional Operations department has an opportunity for a Conservation Coordinator within the Senior Ranger team.


Supporting the team of senior rangers, you will be instrumental in effective & timely delivery of work programmes funded by the Natural Environment Targeted Rate.


Day-to-day you could expect to work on:

  • Leading the development of conservation projects for pest, plant, animal control, and ecological restoration
  • Delivering and coordinating programs
  • Fostering collaborative relationships with key stakeholders, partners and colleagues
The purpose of this role is to achieve best practice outcomes to protect, restore and enhance Auckland's natural environment.

About you

This role has interesting and challenging conservation projects that need creative and collaborative solutions.

Experience in providing best practice advice and delivering high quality project support will be at the heart of your role.

To be successful you will need to demonstrate your ability to be organised, manage projects and drive success.


As a proven influencer and natural collaborator, we will value your strong relationship building skills as you will be working with the wider council family and a range of key stakeholders.


You'll have proven experience in a plant or animal pest management role and /or qualification in parks management, ecology, conservation, or equivalent work experience.
