The EAT Trainer drives safety and quality performance, and continuous improvement initiatives at the Hamilton site and supports the site EH&S Lead.

The incumbent will assist in reviewing, enhancing, and developing effective OH&S and EH&S systems, documentation and processes. They will support and drive safety initiatives and programs toward our Zero Harm goals.

This role ensures systems compliance and directs/assists with root cause analysis of all safety related issues to achieve best practice systems and performance.

The scope of this role is Hamilton site.

Key Job Responsibilities:
Developing and reviewing occupational health and safety system documentation/environment procedures such as, risk assessments, policies, procedures and manuals.

Coordinating and facilitating timely, expert EHS advice and assistance to managers/supervisors, including the promotion of lead indicators such as BBSO and Near Miss Identification.

Analysing EHS data to monitor accident and incident trends and provide reports as necessary.
Conducting investigations of accidents and unsafe working conditions, study possible causes and recommend remedial action.
Actively coordinate and support, induction, training and development of machine training programs

Ensure adequate levels of training are maintained for existing and new employees, including first aid, fire warden, emergency evacuation, forklift, quality, operational training & hygiene.

Identify EH&S training needs and ensure accurate training records are maintained.
Support the plant to achieve compliance against critical performance targets and implement improvement plans where required

The successful applicant will:
Demonstrate an absolute commitment to the highest workplace safety standards.
Have proven experience (5+ years) within a comparable industry, or similar role.
Possess a high standard of communication and problem-solving skills.
Be skilled in motivating others and create change and compliance in all layers of the organisation.

Have a strong Customer focus and the ability to present to teams on topics of safety, wellbeing, environment, and OHS guidelines.

Create compliance to local, regional and global requirements.
Be willing to undertake "on the job" training.
Be able to work hours outside of normal office hours to meet manufacturing commitments.
Demonstrate the ability to write reports, policies and procedures.
Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software for the development of the above.
