Job Location: Wellington / New Zealand
We are looking for an experienced H&S Advisor to join our dedicated Health, Safety, Environment and Risk team. You will be a health and safety generalist with good operational experience, ideally from the maritime/freight industry or a similar high-risk environment.


Reporting to the Head of HSE&R, you will be supporting StraitNZ Bluebridge, with just over 300 employees across Wellington and Picton.

Your role will be responsible for generalist H&S support on our vessels, shore terminals, and head office.

You will be based in the Wellington head office and will be expected to travel on our vessels and be at our terminals in Picton and Wellington on a regular basis.


  • This is a busy and varied role working closely with our managers to grow engagement and deliver on our H&S objectives. You need to be a confident communicator with the ability to build long term relationships, internally and externally. Our industry can be fast paced where changes happen quickly, so you need to be selfmotivated, responsive and resilient.

What are we looking for?
An experienced H&S Advisor who is a good communicator and strong at building relationships. You will be someone who has good attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate reports and records.

  • You will have an in depth knowledge of all things related to H&S, compliance and risk, including legislation, relevant regulatory standards and codes of practice. You will have a working knowledge of NZ Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and the ACC Act. An understanding of the Maritime Transport Act would be advantageous.
