Mō te tūnga | About the role

As the Material Handler you'll be responsible for maintaining the general stores of resources and equipment used during Army training activities.


The main responsibilities of this role are:

  • Responding promptly to requests for equipment from internal customers;
  • Preparing orders for resources and equipment;
  • Conducting regular stock checks and managing stock levels;
  • Managing and maintaining an accurate inventory of all stock; and
  • Providing accurate documentation and records.

Along with at least two years' experience in a warehouse/inventory management environment you'll

need the following:

  • Effective communication and relationship management skills;
  • Strong attention to detail and good organisation skills;
  • Ability to provide quality and efficient service to customers;
  • A good level of computer literacy within the MS Office Suite and experience in SAP/SRM would be welcomed; and
  • A full class 1 NZ drivers' license.

Land Operations Training Centre (LOTC) is one of the larger units within the Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), Waiouru.

LOTC commands the respective Army Schools that provides individual land - based training to all trades within the New Zealand Army.

LOTC is responsible for the delivery of efficient and effective individual training of selected personnel in the skills required for the NZDF, in order to provide NZDF with skilled, operationally focused military professionals.

- most preferably a NZ citizen, who has resided in this country continuously for at least the last five years, OR
- is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last five years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, the United Kingdom (UK) or the United States of America (USA); and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at this level.
