Jacobs is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Built Environment Group based in our Wellington office.

In the role, you will provide technical leadership to more junior members of the team, supports the Principal Engineer/ Team Leader and maintains Structural Engineering technical leadership and delivery.


This position is based in Wellington, NZ and the salary range for this role is $90, ,000 NZD.

This is a Full Time permanent role (40 hours per week)

  • Lead the delivery of structural and/or multidiscipline Built Environment projects
  • Lead the preparation of bids and proposals
  • Lead Safe Design activities
  • Responsibility for the quality of structural technical work by others
  • Coordination with overseas offices
  • Travel to other offices within ANZ and beyond as required to fulfil the role
  • Forge and maintain connections with the global Building Structures cohort
  • Contribute to technical strength of the team, as well as the wider regional Jacobs business.

Here's What You'll Need:

  • A track record of successful project delivery, adhering to strict quality assurance systems
  • A degree qualification in Engineering or industry related field
  • Excellent problem solving and issue resolution skills.
  • Chartered Professional Engineer
  • Industry memberships and active participation at conferences/thought leadership
  • Resourcefulness and ability to take ownership of your designated tasks and those of others.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience of building construction practices, methodologies and techniques.
  • Extensive knowledge, experience and capability in both technical leadership of the Structural discipline and coordination with other disciplines for building projects.
