Warehouse Assistant and Materials Handler

Support the day-to-day operation of the warehouse and ensure there is the right number of raw materials and components ready for the days production for the manufacturing factory.

About Company

Based in Avondale, our client is a leading manufacturer of highly engineered plastic components, which are predominantly exported to Australia, Europe, North America.

They are well established in New Zealand and run very successful manufacturing operation, that continues to grow year on year.


The Role:

This is a hands-on role where you will perform all duties across the warehousing environment.

The hours are 8am - 4.30pm, Mon - Fri.

  • Preparing the raw materials for the daily injection molding production
  • Working off planning in instructions to ensure the right materials are delivered to the production lines and placed in the correct bins
  • Keeping material bins replenished throughout the day
  • Undertaking processes such as weighing, recording and quality check of raw materials
  • Maintain Kanban system for "80" Raw Materials
  • Ensure that all raw materials are stored in a tidy, organised way
  • Sampling of Raw Materials including packaging materials in line with approved test methods
  • Load and unloading of containers
  • Pick and Pack daily orders
  • Dispatch including loading trucks and containers
  • Moving stock around the warehouse
  • Maintain the inventory system and ensure stock movements are recorded accurately.
  • Participate in stock takes at regular intervals
  • Handson labelling, picking, and packing of orders
  • Monitoring of inwards goods and associated paperwork
  • Keeping a high level of housekeeping and cleanliness to ensure a safe and efficient operational
  • Ensure that health and safety requirements are met

About You:

  • Have at least 23+ years' experience in warehousing
  • Experience using a Fork Hoist
  • An Fendorsed Fork Hoist license will be great (but you can gain this on the job)
  • Must have full driver's license
  • Be hardworking and keen to progress your career
  • Possess solid computer skills
  • Be physically fit and active (For lifting of 25kg bags)
  • Have initiative and ability to problemsolve
  • Willingness to learn new skills and learn all products on offer
  • Strong numerical skills required to weigh and measure and work out calculations
  • You will get great references from a previous manager
