About the Role:


Given our commitment to zero-knowledge encryption, the adoption of cutting-edge technologies, and our rapidly growing userbase, this is a dynamic and challenging space to work in where your voice will be heard and your skills put to good use.


The core responsibilities of this role include:

  • Collaborating with the Product, Design, and QA teams to create attractive, functional user experiences that adhere to our stringent security and privacy standards
  • Contributing to code reviews and established engineering guidelines to improve reliability and efficiency
  • Investigating the cause and implications of technical problems and proactively identifying their solutions


Please note that we run an asynchronous, hybrid-remote model at MEGA, and this role may require early-morning or late-night availability as you work alongside staff in different time zones.


About You:


You're a highly-motivated developer with a passion for the industry and a keen awareness of the latest trends, technologies, and approaches.

While you are able to work in a self-directed manner, you also enjoy sharing your knowledge as a part of a highly productive, close-knit team.

You demonstrate MEGA's values by taking ownership of your work and pursuing constant improvement, proactively identifying present or potential issues and seeking to resolve them.

A 'doer' with thorough attention to detail, you will also have:

  • Demonstrable ability in writing clean, efficient code and deep knowledge of algorithmic programming principles
  • Skill with HTTP(s), RESTful, JSON, and CSP
  • Solid grasp of web assets, styling, templates, and clientside programming (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Strong communication skills; proficiency in verbal and written English is a musthave
  • The ability to multitask and work effectively according to strict time constraints and business goals


Ideally, you will also have had exposure to information security principles (such as encryption, hashing, authorizing, and signatures) as well as the Agile/Scrum framework.

A portfolio or examples of prior work will be required as part of the recruitment process.

Qualifications
At least a Bachelor-level qualification in Computer Science or a related discipline
