Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
Anaesthesia Preassessment nurses manage anaesthesia assessments prior to patients - surgeries.

The RN is responsible for collating a multitude of patient information prior to the patient - s surgery so that a safe assessment can be done by either the RN themselves and/or an anaesthesia doctor.


Nurses have a variety of roles in Preassessment:

Running face-to-face clinics in conjunction with anaesthetists, conducting telephone Preassessment calls to patients, and completing screening of patient documentation prior to preassessments.

This role is Monday to Friday, 8 hour shifts from
Mō tō mātou rōpū - About our team
The anaesthesia Preassessment team consists of a small number of experienced nurses who are passionate about what they do.

There is a passion within the team for delivering better patient surgical outcomes, and the team work closely with anaesthetists, other senior team members, and often surgeons in working towards these anticipated patient outcomes.

Moū - About you

  • Surgical/postsurgical experience ward based / Theatres
  • Outpatient clinic experience beneficial but not mandatory
  • General perioperative experience would be a plusE pā ana ki a tatou
