Toru Fetu kindergarten is a purpose built Pacific Kindergarten situated on the grounds of Maraeroa School in Cannons Creek, Porirua.

The focus of this Kindergarten since conception has always been to provide quality Early Childhood Education in the Cook Island, Tuvaluan, and Niuean cultures.

For this reason, the children and families who access our service do so because their aspirations for their child/ren is to be immersed in a quality ECE service that nurtures Pacific languages and culture.

We are licenced for 80 children who attend between 6 and 9 hours a day. You will join our team of 23 staff.

Part-time Teacher, 25 hours per week. This includes non-contact time which is part of your day to day work at the kindergarten.

The hours are:
Monday (2.5hrs) 11am - 1.30pm (2.5 hrs)

Tuesday (4hrs) 11am - 3pm (4 hrs)

Wednesday (8hrs) 7.15am - 3.45pm (inc 1⁄2 hr unpaid break)

Thursday (8hrs) 8am pm - inc 1⁄2 hr unpaid break

Friday am - 1.30pm

We are looking for an ECE teacher who:

• Highly values working collaboratively with the teaching team and in partnership with whānau.
• Has a strong commitment to implementing their knowledge and use of Pacific languages and culture within all teaching practices.
• Is responsive to implementing effective practice that supports tamariki social and emotional competence and inclusive practice.
• Is passionate about teaching in environments that are mixed age from 6 months to 5 years old, where children learn in a whānau environment.
