Production Team Leader

About the Opportunity
Manage one of our day shift Production teams, and be accountable for ensuring that the team achieves production plan targets, both on time and to the desired quality standard:
- Lead and develop a team of motivated Production Assemblers, who understand what is expected of them and are supported to achieve their targets.
- Act as a role model to the team, ensuring that they have the skills to do their work, celebrate their successes and work with them to manage any performance issues, with support from the Production Manager.
- Ensure excellent communication is maintained with the Production Planning team to ensure that the build schedule is released and can be achieved.
- Work closely with Production Engineers to identify opportunities for improvements with flow of products and Production lines.
- Develop and foster a team working environment, as well as being an active player in the production management team.
- Work effectively with your people to ensure that all team members are clearly focused on the goals and objectives of their work area.
Skills & Experience
- Manufacturing assembly experience
- Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles
- Knowledge of ERP systems
- People leadership experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, to convey complex or technical information in an easily understandable way.
- The ability to focus and motivate a team
- A commitment to developing others
