We are looking for a
part-time (0.8TE) HR Adviser/ Kaitohutohu Pūmanawa Tangata to join us.

We can be flexible about what part-time hours might look like, and as we are a family-friendly team, this would be a good opportunity for parents returning to the paid workforce or for people wanting to enhance their work /life balance.


In these roles, you get the best of both worlds, supporting your faculty and/or service division portfolio and being part of a highly experienced and well-respected central HR Advisory / Ranga Pūmanawa Tangata team that collaborates, shares and supports.


Working with an HR Manager/
Poutaki Pūmanawa Tangata and another HR Adviser/ Kaitohutohu Pūmanawa Tangata, you will partner with managers and provide HR generalist support for a diverse portfolio of academic and professional functions.

Key to your success will be your ability to provide high-level quality coaching and advice, with solid relationship-building and influencing skills.

There is ample variety in these HR Adviser roles.

You will exercise the full spectrum of your HR knowledge on any given day, from coaching managers on change processes to performance management, remuneration, university HR processes, and employment relations.

As in most large organisations, there are numerous systems and processes you will support, so excellent time management, attention to detail, and well-developed organisational skills are a must.

Qualifications:

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills
As an established and experienced HR generalist, you will ideally have:

  • Experience partnering with managers and fostering trusted advisory relationships
  • Experience working in complex environments, ideally with high levels of governance and complex processes
  • A proactive approach, with the ability to see the bigger picture yet live in the detail
  • Effective HR administration skills in conjunction with good technology experience or mindset
  • A mindset that embraces collaboration, sharing, fun and willingness to get stuck in
