We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to manage and coordinate local authority, land development, three waters and civil infrastructure, and energy infrastructure, across the engineering, surveying, and environmental disciplines within the Waikato district including in Kirikiriroa -Hamilton, Whāingaroa – Raglan, Taumarunui and Taupō, With your experience in Project Management you will enter a work environment that allows you to use your strong people skills, and effectively and constructively work with clients, internal teams, local Iwi and Hapū and other various contractors and stakeholders to achieve project deliverables.

As a Senior Project Manager at BTW you will work under the guidance of the Directors of Engineering to undertake or provide: Project management duties, including project planning, client communications, budgeting, programming, and the like.

This will include supporting, leading and managing projects using the technical resources from within BTW, and external parties as required.

Procurement and contract management tasks, including but not limited to preparation of contract documentation, tendering, contract management, site supervision, reviewing and responding to contractor queries and claims, and practical field work using relevant engineering equipment.

– -Timely and effective solutions by communicating and co-ordinating with the wider team.
Site visits, investigations, reports, and sketches to professional and relevant standards.
Client reporting to contract timeframes (e.g.
weekly and monthly reports).
Tracking of project/contract fees and budgets to deliver a programme of works for clients.
Managing projects and undertaking professional services contract work for BTW's key local client – Ruapehu District Council.
Quality assurance – verification, auditing and assessment of contract works.

Demonstrate a commitment to Te ao Māori and Tikanga by integrating Māori perspectives, values, and practices into project planning, execution, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring that projects respect and reflect Māori cultural heritage and contribute to the well-being of Māori communities.

As a Senior Project Manager you will have: Ideally a Bachelor's Degree or Diploma preferably in the Engineering field ( Washington accord degree equivalent is desirable), Project Management or similar In excess of 5 years' practice experience post qualification related to Project Management, Civil Engineering, or similar.

Strong knowledge of civil engineering – composition or strengths in a blend of roading, geotechnical, environmental and three waters.
Knowledge of Auto CAD is desired but not mandatory.
Experience overseeing projects.
Preferably experience assisting junior staff.
